O2 to launch Mobile Broadband
O2 has now launched mobile broadband with a service allowing customers to access the internet from their Computers, Laptops over 3G or Wi-Fi.
This new service is being offered to existing O2 customers for £20 per month with a 3GB data cap. Interestingly, it includes unlimited Wi-Fi through over 7,500 hotspots run by The Cloud in the UK.
The small USB ‘memory stick’ style 3G modem will automatically connect customers to the fastest network available be it GPRS, EDGE, 3G, HSDPA or Wi-Fi.
You can now monitor your data usage through the modem’s software and also warned via text message when you reach the 2GB point. Not only this, you’ll also be informed directly by phone when reaching the 3GB cap. Now, how cool is that??
If you use over the 3GB of your data, you’ll be charged at 20p per megabyte and you’ll be informed again, if you use £100 worth of data over their cap.
So, you can now take advantage of the promotion, as until 31 October if you exceed the 3GB cap, you’ll not be charged.
O2 Mobile Broadband will be offered on an 18-month contract or a rolling one-month contract. This reminds me of O2’s Simplicity mobile phone contract.
